What is the point.

Disclaimer: this is sort of a rant / commiseration / desperation / futility driven post. I don't want to depress anyone, so I apologize in advance if that happens. I don't blame you if you don't want to read this. Peace.

Why are Republicans / Right Wingers so damned self absorbed . fact averse / and just so fucking mean?!

It's sort of a rhetorical question ...

I mean, I have spent most of my life fighting against this sort of stuff on a political and a personal level. Depression has kicked me to the curb a t least a couple of times, but somehow or other I keep coming back (with the help of a lot of fine folks, #1 being my wife, and a lot of people on here - like Pinboy3niner

I guess some of you know that we have been having a few health and financial problems her at the Ashling household - and, NO, I am not asking for money or anything - Most of my situation has been brought on by my own stupid decisions and failuretude - I just would like to know why every time we almost get things figured out, there is sometotally forseen but unforseen calamity that rips it all away.

I'm sorry. Seriously, I will more than understand if nobody wants to reply.

Peace.

I can't believe I walk this Earth with 'people' filled with ugly, heart-less trumpness. MUCH of my Life till now has been a struggle, most of it has been just me & Spirit..
Lived through major depression when my Son was deployed to Iraq in the *war..
& NOW..my worst day is a goood day, cuz my only "child" is OUT. .whole, healthy and strong, & living his Dream. 💖 HANG IN THERE..! BELIEVE!
I been drinkin' some wine tonight, & on my way to sleeps, but YOU need to know..the ugly & meanness we are seeing is an illusion, it's temporary. WE must keep our Hearts in the right place, & keep the Faith & Stay STRONG. Sometimes it is 'impossible'..but stay sweeet & hang on. Reach out when You need us..US!
Bless YOU &Yours.

My grandmother was one of those, she didn't have an entitled or prejudiced bone in her body, liked and accepted everyone. Back in the '40s when her children were small, a neighbor once called her out, told her that "one of your children is going to marry an Eskimo!" LOL. I guess that's the minorest minority this person could think of. But my grandmother eventually saw the light, voted for Bill Clinton in '92 and '96. When she called to tell me, I told her that I did, too, but we didn't need to tell the others - meaning the rest of the family. My generation is comprised of liberal Democrats, can't imagine what the previous generation of "liberal Republicans" would think of their party now.

three steps back seems to be my pattern also. I'm always brought back when I see those who are way worse off. Keep plugging away.
