I have never seen anything he does - American Idol, nothing - so why should I have an opinion. The most I know are the "jokes" Kathy GRIFFIN makes about his sexuality. That said, both Kelly and he proceeded to make jokes about his sexuality:
In the set-up to the reveal, Kelly said that the big surprise/mystery was being resolved, that she didn't want to give it away so it would be "he or she" and repeated "he or she" a couple of times. Then when his subject was how he had to keep it a secret he told his closest friends he was going to tell them a big secret and their guesses were: "Getting married. Having a baby. Coming out of the closet."
So, well, this program has been on as background for me for 15 years, so I can have an opinion (uninspired choice)?!1
*******Bwah-hah, posted this in GD but was able to self delete before getting flamed. And misspelling the dude's surname complements my own clueless opinion.

(102,234 posts)So it seems a "given" now that he's the go-to "stick-figure" on these shows. He's what Kato Kaelin aspired to be.
While I have nothing against him personally, I agree that there is no chemistry between the two, so it does appear to be a very predictable, uninspired choice.
Truth in advertising, I have so rarely seen even five minutes of this show the past many years, that I suppose I too should not have an opinion.

(1,642 posts)SeaQuest -- the below-the-waterline-Star Trek -- is another great show destroyed by network execs who wanted it to be more youthful and sexy.

(16,334 posts)ever smiling, oh so smooth. It's not that I don't like him. I do think he's very Dick Clarkish. I just think your term "uninspired" is a very fitting description.
