Got my notice last month that my subscription to MsOffice was expiring.
I decided I couldn't afford it any more. Hell, I am no power user anyway, don't need all that power at that price.
So, I downloaded a shareware office suite, am working on getting my key files converted-pretty easy, that. Like I said, not a power user.
I still use Windows, but I've let go of the rest of the MsBS programs.

I used to use OpenOffice, but LibreOffice forked off from OpenOffice and the developers went there, so now there is large preponderance of development in favor of LibreOffice.

Seems good so far. Like I said, not a power user, so basic 4 function math on the spreadsheet is fine. Haven't used the other tools yet. I keep a spreadsheet going with my finances, and didn't want to go with the Google Docs method. No need to hang my files out in the cloud. Not that I don't trust Google, but....

I sometimes have trouble opening Word documents that have alot of graphics and tables. The formatting of those objects are different between the two programs.
I would prefer MS Office, but I am not a power user.
