Michael Parks, a character actor with over 100 film and television credits, has died. He was 77.

Parks’ agent announced that the actor died on Tuesday.

Parks was born in Corona, Calif., where his early jobs included picking fruit, digging ditches, driving trucks, and fighting forest fires. His film career began in 1961, when he played the nephew of the character George Mac Michael on the ABC sitcom “The Real McCoys.”

The prolific actor had a late-career surge, working with directors including Kevin Smith, Quentin Tarantino, and Robert Rodriguez. In the first and second “Kill Bill” movies he played Texas Ranger Earl McGraw and Esteban Vihaio.

Tarantino featured him regularly!

So many good roles recently, including the mind-blowing "Red State"!

Rest in peace, Michael Parks.

I've seen some skanky looking sources carrying it but nowhere I'd risk doing business.

Opening credits:

Businessman:
Taking a trip?

Jim Bronson:
What's that?

Businessman:
Taking a trip?

Jim Bronson:
Yeah.

Businessman:
Where to?

Jim Bronson:
Oh, I don't know. Wherever I end up, I guess.

Businessman:
Man, I wish I was you.

Jim Bronson:
Really?

Businessman:
Yeah.

Jim Bronson:
Well, hang in there.

Not one stinking nomination.

Damn I dug him from when I was a little girl. It was wonderful to see him re-surge in his later years.

I know that because we recently rewatched the entire series in preparation of the new season later this month.

in the earlier part of the 1970's.

He was always polite, respectful, quiet and generous the times I was on the floor
when he dined.

Handsome in all the ways I consider a man handsome.

RIP Michael Parks

That clip you linked to is one I often watch. It is very hard to believe that's the same man who played Sheriff McGraw in the first Kill Bill movie, but he so skillfully portrays each character with their very different appearances/motives/personalities. I love the little physical gestures he puts into Esteban, and they did a great makeup job to age him.
