Other dogs in the neighborhood gaze at him and look a little jealous, they also probably wonder, like most humans, how he got up there.
The sight of Huck on the roof is a viral sensation, and social media has been flooded with photos of the dog sitting there, just chilling out.
...
Motorists who drive by the house are sometimes taken aback because they think Huck is stranded, according to his owners, Justin and Allie Lindenmuth.
... So many people ring the bell that a note has been posted on their door that reads: We appreciate your concern but please do not knock on our door, we know he's up there.

(2,533 posts)I wish I still had the picture I'd post it but I lost it when my house burned down. My dog would grab his way up a slightly slanted tree and get up there and bark at people LOL

(8,687 posts)Daphne could get up on the rail of our deck and then get on top rail of wooden fence that joined with neighbors wooden fence and then onto to roof.
Daphne would lay on her back and sunbath and also communicate with neighbor's back yard dogs.
Sometime she would be in the neighbor's back yard playing with the dogs and would bark to be let out when we got home; the neighbor's yard was very secure to keep dogs in.
We (and neighbors) never saw Daphne get from roof to back yard but our theory and probably the reality was she would leap into this large shrub that would break her fall.
Otherwise she would just walk the fence back to the deck.
Good thing the neighbors liked Daphne. She had lots of personality. She could climb (and sit in the branches of) some trees too. A cyclone fence was a ladder to her. You could go to a children's playground with a slide and she would follow people up the ladder and take her turn on the slide. If her food or water bowl was empty, she would throw it at you with her teeth and bark. We backpacked often and Daphne loved horse poop. She would carry it down the trail in her mouth and only drop one specimen if she found one fresher. If you tried to get the poop away, she would eat it. She rolled in fresh cow pies. Once at work - I was a forester - she turned up about 15 feet away from me and another guy playing with a bear cub. I could continue about that dog.

(51,311 posts)thinking it wanted to come down, tried to lure it off. No luck; that cat just kept walking all around the whole roof!
So we waited for the absent owner. He finally arrived home, and we excitedly told him, "Your cat is on your ROOF!" His reply?
"I don't have a cat."
