Magic balloon?

Over three week ago Miz t. tied a balloon on our mailbox for some folks who were coming here for the first time.
She just blew it up and tied a knot in the end.
Like you do.

Three weeks later the damn thing is still (as far as I can tell) fully inflated.
It's uncanny.
Balloons usually deflate by the next day.
At lest they did when I was a kid millennia ago.

I think Miz t. has magic breath.
Or something?

Some years back, when my son got his braces off, the dentist gave him some mylar balloons filled with helium. We brought them home and he put them in his bedroom. We were in a two story house, and his bedroom was on the upper level.

Those balloons liked to wander. We'd patiently return them to his room.

One time, maybe six weeks into their residency, I came home from something and found the balloons downstairs, clustered around the piano. I said, "You know you don't belong here. Please go back upstairs." They looked at me (at least I think they did), then turned and slowly drifted down the hall, made a 90 degree turn, went upstairs, made a 45 degree turn, and went into my son's room. They never wandered again.

Yes, it's a true story, and no, I did not walk behind them waving my hands to create the breeze to make them move. They did it all on their own.
