YURT "glamping" 4th of July weekend

After waiting too long I went about trying to make camping reservations today. Yes TODAY.

I called and the reservationist found a yurt available July 2-3. Checkout on the 4th but still get to hang out at the pool. Even the reservationist was shocked that even a tent site was still available let alone a yurt. State park.

We used to go camping every summer when I was a kid. First it was this huge, old army surplus tent, and sometimes he'd get us a bare bones log cabin, but then my dad bought a trailer. We thought we were living like kings in the forest.

There are a few at a couple of parks. Built "in collaboration" with Virginia Correctional Enterprises.

I discovered them from the Whole Earth Catalog in the early 70s.

I wish I had one. I wish I could rent one for any weekend..

The stars shone brightly on you.

Congratulations.

I was up there last year, I didn't go in one, but they look like they would be fun.

Peace

I stayed in Sturgis at a nice camping cabin -not KOA.
Memorial day wknd was considered off season so only $59!
Cheaper than any hotel i stayed at tho I had to walk to the bathroom.
They had all the goods a reg hotel room did and a few extras.

Have fun!
