I'm swimming four miles a week and I haven't lost an ounce. I love the swimming, thank God, so I won't stop, but really!

I shudder to think of what that hidden post would have been.

I practice Fast-5 as well. It greatly simplifies your life and there are other benefits besides losing weight too.

I'm usually 5-10 or 6-11, but most of the time after I eat my first meal I only eat another snack about an 1-2 hours later which makes it more like a 3 hour eating window. Because of social reasons, sometimes will eat outside my window and that day it may stretch to 8 hours, but not often as I don't like extending or going outside the 5 hours. After 3+ years it gets to be a strongly ingrained habit.

at a salad bar. So I have little prep time. I eat the salad with protein and one other regular meal within the 5 hours. Then I drink only water or black coffee or tea the rest of the time. I'm using any excuse to walk. The theory is that because you eat pretty normally during those 5 your body does not go into starvation mode and hold onto calories like it does with other diets. For me the hard part is finding something I like to eat with my tastebuds gone caput. I was compensating with take out food. The salad bar salads are pre made and last 3 days in the fridge. I have a choice of about 12 different ones. Plus any protein you can think of on top. I like the salmon myself. All for $10. I bought a scale to stay motivated every day. This is a lifestyle I can pretty much keep up. Good luck to you.

That's what your body burns first for energy. When you fast for several hours, your body has no choice but to burn fat.

but it can be monotonous and expensive. I'm a grazer, so fasts are especially difficult for me.
