Just him and another guitarist. Nash is 75 (!!) and still puts on a great show. He started with two Hollies numbers, then mostly his own stuff. He even did two numbers by the Beatles (who were friends of his from the Hollies days), including "A Day In The Life," which I never figured on anyone ever doing live, let alone two guys with guitars! But he did. He said something that I guess should have been obvious, but I never gave much thought to: with CSN&Y, he was with three other very strong songwriters, so there was no way he would get anywhere near all of his songs on records made with them. So many of the songs he did were ones he never recorded with them, although written at the time.
He DID do "Just a Song Before I Go," "Marrakesh Express," "Our House," and last encore song, of course, "Teach Your Children." He is in great shape and so is his voice.
He gave some background to some of the songs, spent NO time on the CSN breakup, and told of visiting last month with Joni Mitchell, who is still recovering from her brain aneurysm of 2 years ago.
I still can't believe the caliber of musician they get here to Truro, Massachusetts, out in the sand dunes in the middle of nowhere, but I'm glad they do. 2 weeks ago, we saw Jesse Colin Young ad his band, and next week it's Arlo Guthrie. For this baby boomer, it's one hell of a bonus--waves during the day, music at night, and fresh fish off the boats daily to make with local veggies. Reminds me every day of why it is SO worth it to come 4500 miles every year to do this.

Nobody comes to my little town.

(54,341 posts)Unless you're a fan of the tip of Cape Cod, or an expert in Men In Black trivia, there is no reason whatsoever to have even heard of Truro, Massachusetts.

(149,583 posts)How very cool to hear Graham Nash! Maybe he likes to get off the beaten track now and then too.
Hi to your beautiful wife too!

(54,341 posts)He said that he, along with the rest of CSN&Y had played before 70,000 people, but he loved the intimate setting of 250 people, too, which is about 10% of the population of Truro! (in the winter, anyway). He said it gave the impression of paying before real people instead of a huge impersonal wad. He was visibly appreciative of the way we responded to his performance, too.
