Valerian & the city of 1,000 planets. If you saw the preview you saw the best part.
I just came back from watching it in the theater.
It is indescribably bad. Has the dialog and acting of a high school production. And long. Very long. Very, very long.

2. Good to know
Glad I didn't go to see that one. I saw Wonder Woman today. It was alright. Typical super hero movie.

5. For that kind of money they should have gotten good writers & actors
Instead of blowing the wad on special effects.

Now I'll have to watch a chick flick to atone.

8. I didn't think it was that horrible.
But, it did feel like it was a YA genre. Probably trying to capitalize on the Twilight phenomenon. If you put it in that context, sorry, but the acting was not that bad. The young actress in the Valerian movie did a better job pulling off attitude than Kristen Stewart.

15. She has more range than Kristen Stewart.
I have a big problem with the criticism that the movie picked unknowns to launch that movie. I saw that as a positive move. I was fine with it, and I went with the idea that it was all about CGI. I wasn't disappointed.
I figured the ducks would be a problem for the USA audience. For some reason most of us have a crayon meltdown whenever animated characters are used in a movie. That should have tipped you off that it was a comic-book genre. Def not a movie for the hard metal Star Wars fan. |

10. We just saw it today
I didn't think it was terrible. But then, the theatre had La Fin Du Monde and we're in Key West and we were taking respite from the oppressive heat.
I've certainly seen worse movies while sober.... |

12. I am getting a real Avatar vibe from it
Amazingly I only recently saw Avatar. A beautiful world creation with awesome special effects and a poor story with weak script writing.
Much to my disappointment John Carter was that way as well. Good to know. Thanks for the info. We saw Attack of the Planet of the Apes this weekend.A really good film - the best of a good trilogy. |
