Also, Niles' wife Maris in "Frasier" (I know I snuck in two, but I figured the shows were related).
Corrected to Maris from "Mavis", oops!

(73,626 posts)And yet, even if there was an image of "Chef" in subjective mode not played by Riker, it still wouldn't count, he wasn't real. No one knew what he actually looked like.

(12,132 posts)Unseen PA announcer Sal Viscuso on Children's Hospital was a direct homage to the PA Announcer on M*A*S*H. Voiced by Michael Cera (George-Micahel Bluth on Arrested Development), the character was named for the actor who did the PA announcements (when it wasn't Radar) on M*A*S*H.

Actually I stand corrected -
Fiona Conway "Pickles" Sorrell (Barbara Perry/Joan Shawlee) Buddy's slightly nutty wife and former showgirl. She becomes an off-screen character after season two

You're right about Trapper's wife.
And the Honoria episode, featuring the soldier who struggled with a stutter, was indeed very touching. I didn't like Charles much when I was younger, but as I grew older I appreciated him more and more.

(11,843 posts)Sherman T. Potter has the least distressing dream in the episode. He dozes off at his desk, and is roused by his horse, Sophie, who enters the room in full saddle and bridle. He grabs his hat and mounts Sophie, riding into an open field. A pair of Koreans in the shrubbery throw a grenade at Potter, who effortlessly knocks it away with a polo mallet, resulting in a spectacular fireworks display. Potter then comes upon a familiar site: his childhood home. A younger Sherman Potter is riding on a horse outside, and a female voice is calling him to dinner. At this point, Klinger abruptly awakens Potter, much to his regret; "It's been a long time since I've tasted one of her home-baked muffins."

Peter Gunn's receptionist, only her legs are ever seen and her voice heard. Years later she became very famous. Mary Tyler Moore.
Also there was an un-seen character named "Mother"... I think. Have not seen an episode in the last 50 years or so. I believe that Henry Mancini did the theme music but I cannot be sure. Music was bluesy.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/December_Bride
"December Bride centered on the adventures of Lily Ruskin, a spry widow played by Spring Byington, who was not, in fact, a "December" (rather old) bride but very much desired to become one if the right man would come along. Aiding Lily in her search for this prospective suitor were her daughter Ruth Henshaw (Frances Rafferty) and son-in-law Matt Henshaw (Dean Miller), and her close friend Hilda Crocker (character-actress Verna Felton). A next-door neighbor, insurance agent Pete Porter (Harry Morgan), was frequently seen. Married miserably himself, according to his constant complaints about his unseen wife Gladys..."
We finally meet Gladys in a spin-off, "Pete and Gladys," 1960-62, played by actress Cara Williams.
