Honorable mention:
At the Hop, Danny and the Juniors
It's almost impossible to sing it, but Danny manages it effortlessly.

(5,165 posts)It was huge the summer of 1958, in US and Europe.
I was doing the grand tour of Europe with my college roommate and "Volare" was blaring wherever we stopped, in whatever country.

(3,064 posts)These girls could really sing. And convey feeling. This isn't just a song about puppy love, the heartache is well brought out.
First time I heard it I was maybe six y.o. Haven't heard it in decades until I played it here but it survives the test of time.
Great sax work as well.

(220 posts)Hi,
The song was published in 1957, Perry Como recorded it late in the year & it was a hit in 1958.
Magic Moments, still a fun song.
