I have been unfaithful and I feel bad.

I love my cat. We have been together for 18 years. She is mean. If I cuddle her I get bit. If I pet her too long I get bit. If laugh or cry I get bit. If I move too much in the bed I get bit. But I love her. We accept each other.

And then there's the cat down the hall. He is handsome and sweet and cuddly. He is always happy to see me. He never tires of ear scratches and face rubs. I can even pick him up without getting bit. He tries to come inside my apartment but I have to shoo him away because my girl hates all other cats and gets very upset when she sees him.

Today he was in the hallway when I went to take out the trash. On the walk back, we had a long session of ear scratches and face rubs. He was on my heels, eager to run inside my place when I approached the door.

I told him: "You have to go. She won't understand. I love you but I have her and your have your people!"

As I performed the difficult task of keeping him away while opening the door, she was there on the other side. As I rushed in she growled and hissed at him. When I got inside and closed the door. She let out a confused and pained meow.

I felt awful.

I have one very much like that. I sometimes think she is Satan's spawn. Beautiful on the outside but a sneaky, little shit on the inside. Sometimes very sweet and sometimes very tooth and claw and if you know what I mean.

I have the exact same problem. This is the first mean cat I've ever had and it breaks my heart. I have a cat but have to visit friends to get an actual "cat fix".
