Word of the day: ullage

ul·lage
ˈəlij/
noun: ullage

the amount by which a container falls short of being full.
loss of liquid by evaporation or leakage.

Most of the unknown words I come across are lame. The amount something falls short is a great definition.

Darned autocorrect changed "ullage" to "homage"--and just now changed "darned" to "earned." I almost didn't catch that one before posting.

Damn it! It changed "darned" to "earned" again!
