Does it seem to anyone else like the bourgeoisie today........

is a whole lot quicker on the trigger to bring out the fascists than they were back in the 30s? Back then, they only trotted out and supported the far-right when there was an actual existential threat to the system. Today it seems like they'll bring out their fascist attack dogs just because it gains them a temporary advantage in the short term.

Is it hubris? They ALWAYS think they can control these social forces, but are they more prideful about it today than before?

BTW, all are welcome to comment, but please remember this is posted in the Socialist Progressive forum, a protected group. No red baiting.

I think the powers that be are very aware of the coming shortages of everything and are putting everything in place for fascism now.

I think the goal is to let the rest of us starve and riot and die while the rich sit in their bunkers protected by police, waiting it out. That's my vision of the end game, anyway. Of course I could be wrong.
