I need to learn about it, but Bernie is the one who made me think I'd been buying all the BS we've been taught all these years. Didn't really know what it was, but just knew it was "bad". Still don't really know a lot, but since Bernie's my poster boy, I know it's NOT "bad"!

10. I was into it in high school, reading Marx, and we were taught the Humanist manifesto in history.

We were also taught about the labor movement, the New Deal programs, all of that. I joined the YSA in college and later the SWP. I parted ways with them but I know some full fledged commies where I live, but I don't hang out with them.

Know a lot of labor people, and I was into union work in the seventies and eighties with political campaigns. My district in the city I lived in voted for the SWP candidate for president one year in the seventies. In the anti-war era of the sixties and seventies, we traveled across the country with SWP and union members when weren't working with Democrats who supported our causes.

The Democratic Party was always in the background on the big picture. I volunteered for them in the sixties as a teenager in between working summers in high school on local elections. Not paid, but it just felt like we needed to do something those days.

The Quakers, UMC, Episcopalians and Unitarians opened their homes and pockets to support what we were doing. So many varieties of good people.

Although we take spells here and get busy, most of us seem to post more on other fora. Even I post more on GD than on here. I kind of look to this forum as a resource though. The discussions we have here are more involved and more theoretical than you can get away with on the more generalized places. So that's all to the good. I guess I agitate on the other fora and here I talk more theory, strategy, and tactics.
