Alice's Restaurant

Thanksgiving is my least favorite holiday. Land grab by imperialistic europeans - slaughtered our indigenous people and then celebrated over dinner. So I will skip the holiday greeting on this one and instead give you the best part of the season - the tradition of listening to Alice's Restaurant. Enjoy --

when my brother brought it home following his last of three tours in Viet Nam. I always think of him when I hear it. Appropriately, his birthday sometimes falls on Thanksgiving.

He's a registered Republican, but he's hinted a few times on his website (which has something resembling a blog/forum section) that he doesn't support Republican policies. For one thing, he's made numerous statements in support of unions and refuted a rumor that he refused to join one. He also posted a pretty lengthy defense of the Occupy movement a couple years ago that attacked the idea that government should be privatized.

That being said, he's said some pretty odd/conflicting things in the past. My suspicion is that he may be closer to our side than the others, but has nowhere near the political knowledge of Woody.
