Your Fall theme is a perfect way to start, and I totally love the one where you painted the cemetery. It’s a great way to get the students excited.

I would like to suggest that you laminate as much of your school art as you can. Even though it seems transitory and not very important to you, in the long term you’ll be very glad you preserved your work. AND you’ll be able to bring it out and use it again and again. I laminated all the drawings of the models and other drawings I’ve shown here starting 40 years ago. It would all be gone if I hadn’t done that. I’m very grateful to myself for preserving it. And you might eventually use it to make children’s books, plus it’s a nice legacy to leave your descendants.

to live with the wrinkles. But I do love how bright and shiny the pieces are now.

The cemetery is one I painted when I was a young woman. Mom was still alive then, and told me it would look better if I glazed colors over the black. She was so right. She also talked me into not cropping off the drips at the bottom, and was right about that, too.

They look really good. You can also get them in different thicknesses, called ply which measures thicknesses. And they make any size so your work is displayed perfectly. It’s inexpensive and you can just do them as you create them. You can also get glossy or matte finishes. You’ll be very happy you laminated your work in the years to come.
