1. Spivakov !!!!!!!!!!!!!

He is a brilliant musician and wonderful person... I met him at a concert in Moscow a short while back by the same Moscow Virtuosi, (and a violinist friend of mine) of which he is the founder and director.

And Alfred Shnittke is a greatly under-rated and under-played composer...

2. I am fond of Russian musicians, composers, symphonies and such.

Being of Slavic [Czechoslovakian] heritage may be why. Most always they 'know how to do it'. 😊

3. Another overlooked composer is Mieczysław Weinberg,

who has been championed to a great degree by, among a few others, Gidon Kremer with his KREMERATA BALTICA. Do you know Kremer, or the Kremerata?

A brilliant violinist and wonderful human being and an absolutely superb group.

4. Why yes, I am familiar with Kremer and his ensemble! I love his artistic style.

If St Petersburg isn't the cultural capital of the world, I don't know where it might be.
