2. I kind of like the Monet Print for the body and the Light Blue for the trim.

Or the Delft Blue for the body and the Light Blue for the trim. Whatever color combination you choose will look great wrapped around the little one.

as for the yarn, I'm sort of partial to the Monet Print.

Second choice would be the Delft Blue.

You're like I am...I get so bogged down with trying to decide colors and patterns (not to mention that when I do decide I have to adjust needle size for my particular gauge) that I often set myself up for rushing or don't do anything at all and then end up buying something instead.

Luckily, the item is small enough so you could probably finish in a couple of nights.

3. my sister and I made a variety of items from 3 yards

of fabric with the word Democrat written on it and it had the donkey logo scattered about as well. The fabric was donated to our democratic club and we made 10 bandanas, 2 picture frames, 3 tote bags and a 2 sets of coasters....we had a blast...I did take some photos of our table setup where you can see it some of the prodcuts,,,,just haven't had a chance to download them yet as I got back late last night from the convention.

I love the look of your scarf....I used to make most of my presents, but I'm too active in politics and have little time for crafting like I once did!

13. Recently finished tatting a length of lace

to go on a jacket I'm making for a costume for Gold Rush Days in Sacramento. I took tatting lessons last October. I'm not proficient, so I chose the most simple pattern. I'm satisfied with it. My next attempt will be something more complex.

14. I'm making a couple of ruffled scarves.

The craft shop had the yarn on 2-for-1 special and I thought I'd give it a try. They're super easy. I almost finished one in a night, and I'm a slow knitter. However, I'm not sure I like the results that much and probably won't make any more.

15. Cool projects, peeps!

I don't know what it is about the weather turning cooler, but I always feel more motivated to pick up my yarn and needles again (took most of the summer off).

Picked up some new lambswool/acrylic yarn recently and am working on a freeform crochet wrap.

Oh, and also picked up a bracelet beading kit. Saving that to do for when Mr Pipi goes to TX next month to visit his daughter for ten days.

16. I'm busily crocheting scarves to sell at

craft fairs this holiday season.

I use Lion's Brand Homespun, and one skein makes a six foot long scarf. I turn some of them into mobius scarves. I always get the yarn on sale or use a coupon for a discount, so I never pay more than $5.00 for the skein, and I sell them for $20.00. People love them. I'm considering someday trying to make enough to warrant getting a kiosk at a local mall, but that's several years down the road, if it even happens.

but i'm using "my own" yarn, handspun from purchased hand-dyed wool, not the Lion Homespun. the gauge is quite a bit smaller, more sport weight.

i'm hurrying to get a few more xmas gifts done!

20. I just finished a baby quilt for a shower last week.

It took me forever to decide what to do, and I ended up with a week to make the quilt. The mom- and dad-to-be (dad is my boss) love it.

21. A suffragist costume for living history for next year's 120 year anniversary.

Working with the Sensibility Beatrix pattern, to build something similar to the costumes in the video in my signature. I have to alter everything (short waisted + FBA + ballerina collarbones) so fine-tuning this is... Keeping me busy.

Let me state now that I really hate some collars.

I love all the crafts everyone is doing. I need to get on the ball. I crochet and am a beginner quilter. Late getting started on Christmas gifts so looking for something fast and easy

I just finished spinning up some alpaca, silk and glitz in black, brown and gold. I spun for yardage and then realized it needed to be three plied to come up to lace weight.

I've got about 160 yards of it and I'm hoping it will do a lacy capelet on big enough needles. I also need to cast on the slate blue Corrie I spun up last spring, I need a new winter workhorse sweater.

Next thing will be some merino space dyed in the complete spectrum.

28. Just finished

Around 6 weeks ago I was thinking I've been doing lapidary for 36 years and never made anything for myself so I decided since I was such I nice guy I deserved a sphere.

31. Embroidery

Last summer I bought an old (probably 1960's) linen sheet in it's original package for $8. So for Christmas I've made two king-sized pillow cases which I then embroidered for my daughter and her husband. I had some sheet left over so I made a pillowcase for a square European pillow my granddaughter has on her bed -- and embroidered on that too. I still have some sheet left over but it isn't enough for pillow cases so I'll just hang on to it until I think of something else.

32. I’m finishing up two dioramas.

One is of a castle with knights and their horses, and a dragon.

The other stars Little Red Riding Hood and the wolf by Red’s grandma’s house. I’m going to start filling the pond with fake water tomorrow and finish making the caulk waterfall. Then I’ll add Red and the wolf and the house (which will go where the bundles of dried grasses are in the picture) and I’ll be done. I’ve been working on this diorama for more than a month. I cut and painted dead grass from the meadow behind my house, and used real soils too (and some dried coffee grounds), which I baked to sterilize. I made the cliff out of Hydrocal and plaster of Paris, and the trees out of wooden dowels, furnace filter material and moss bits. I textured the trunks with wood filler. What a long project! Good thing I’m patient, but Mr. froggy would like to have the kitchen table back, because our doggies keep trying to eat off his plate.





Since taking the picture of Red and the wolf figurines, I’ve made a lace bed cape for the wolf to go with grandma’s sleep cap. I decorated the cap and cape (which I made out of an old doily) with pink ribbons.

When both dioramas are finished, I may spiff up the house a little. Still deciding about that.
