terence trent d'arby - seasons (someday, someone will cover this forgotten gem and make bank)

Just a drop-dead beautiful song and performance, everything on it performed and produced by him ... a stunner, IMHO.

I won't say goodbye
I don't want to use that exit line
Please don't make me lie
I have no excuse for you this time

Cause sometimes
(It's alright for a season)
But then it's time to go

The verses of my life are moving past
And so now the chorus I must hear
I've got to define my life and times
Before I can give you more than tears

Cause sometimes
(It's alright for a season)
But then it's time to go

Your heart was stretched to the point of breaking
Your tears are etched and your sorrow is waking

This complicated curse
Causes you to freeze our love in time
If I awaken first
It's only 'cause you lost yourself in mine

Please don't let me see you cry

Cause sometimes
It's alright for a season
But then it's time to go ...

His first 2 CDs were part of my Columbia House hauls - You remember when you'd join and quit 3 times a year so you'd get 12 cds for a dime when you rejoined...

Any way he was a talented dude, just couldn't keep his shit together for the long haul

He's actually never 'went away', although the name of Terence Trent D'Arby is no more. He lives in Italy now and it sounds like he doesn't have a record deal, just makes his own stuff by himself and releases it via his own website. He got 'outta the business' for the most part, but is still making music.

His third album Symphony or Damn was pretty dang good, much better than his 2nd one, IMHO.

IIRC, and I may not remember correctly since it has been literally decades since I cracked open the jewel case on that one.

But "Wishing Well" is still a fantastic party song and it still get a strong reaction among middle aged people while drinking, and younger folks wonder who the hell is this..
