This is one of those songs that makes me reflexively reach for the volume knob know when it comes on the radio.
Just have to crank it up!
BTW: This is the official video. It's not really live. Thus is the studio track with live footage superimposed. The biggest tell is that there is a subdued low vocal during the chorus, but nobody else on stage is singing.
My guess is the video was actually a live reproduction in front of an audience on a soundstage. So, they were reproducing the studio track, best they could. The audience probably did hear it live.
Funny Related Story. Because of what Eddie says at the beginning of this clip, I had to relate it.
Back in the early 90s, a small TV crew showed up to shoot our band. As we had played that place the prior night, we didn't have to show up but about 15 minutes before show time.
I get there & they're setting up lights. I asked them what the heck are they doing. They said they needed TV lights.
I said "No front lighting. First we have 80 lights already, second we have a spotlight, third you guys are using $25,000 cameras. There's no way you need lights. Besides, we have 250 people in here who paid two bucks to get in. Part of what they pay for is the light show. Take them down."
The director comes over & agrees they'll do the first set my way, but if it's bad looking, we have to go with front lighting.
After the first set, I go outside to the truck and he said "You were right. It looks fantastic!"
So, I can relate to Eddie!
