In the longer term, I think the samey-ness of the singers vocal styling (not that this wasn't really common ... Oasis, or Social Distortion, for example?) probably kept them from getting bigger. Plus there was so much competition for this style of music at the time.

They would've been bigger.

They looked too much like who they were - a south Jersey bar band.

Remember this was when the lady who sang on I Got The Power was replaced in the video with a swimsuit model.

But they could write a pop melody like normal people breathe, and play it effortlessly - loud.

I'm just sad that they're done and fading from the collective memory
