1973 ... in the brand new house my mom and stepdad bought in Martinez, CA ... with pops' Koss headphones on, listening to Cosmos Factory, real loud, after school.

My mom wasn't much of a rocker (and frankly I'm surprised my step-dad bought this record cause he's pretty uptight back then), so I had to play it on headphones if I wanted to hear it as loud as I liked it!

But yeah, I LOVED me some Creedence as a kid ... cause my 'real dad' turned me onto 'em, cruising around listening to 8-tracks in his GTO (often on our way to go Bowling, I might add). Plus they were on the radio, so ...

'Looking Out My Back Door' is one of the very first 'favorite songs' I ever remember having.

Good times, good times.

“Looking Out My Back Door” is just such a marvel of several basic chords that can really make you tap your feet. Good old fashioned rock n roll. It doesn’t get any better.

Another song that fits that description, Queen’s “Crazy Little Thing Called Love”.
