Ya ever wish John and George were still around, providing social commentary in their songs?

Well, that isn't happening, sadly ... but you can certainly pretend with this recent track from Rayland Baxter ... believe me, my standards when it comes to 'sounding like the Beatles' are very, very high ... but this one is way up there in the 'thumbs up' category for Mr. L

I can't say it's my FAVORITE, above Abbey Road and Sgt. Peppers and White Album, but ... it's every bit as great as any of 'em.

To me it really was a starting point, where they passed from being an exceptionally good act ... to undeniable, stone-cold GREATNESS.

Though I'd entertain an argument for Rubber Soul being that point as well

I also really like that Rayland put Revolver in the song title ...

I wish this daily. I play those songs from time to time and wonder where those people are who could do this again. We could sure use some of those songs, with words you could sing along with and feel like you were not alone during those times of feeling overwhelmed. Simple songs of encouragement and fairness and peace. Often surrounded by songs of great sadness and those to pump you up to fight the madness.

Yes, to put it simply...yes.

I like this song. I will check him out when I have time to listen. Thanks.
