(3,430 posts)That Mid-80s Starship may have been a bridge too far...but its not like I posted a video of Andrew McCarthy chasing Kim Cattrall around a department store.

(33,643 posts)from that era myself actually ... this is a little earlier ... actually saw 'em on this tour, too ... for $5, Concord Pavilion ... Tubes were way cool til they went all pop ... but this is a classic ... both in it's total wrongness as vid ... and what a good song it is.

(33,643 posts)Looking back ... if I had to pick a 'theme song' for my year ... might've been this one ... although there was a lot of Floyd, Maiden, Priest, Billy Squier, Dio, Scorps, and Ozzy being played that year as well ... this was kinda my jam ... when it was just me

(8,558 posts)I have both,. I think it was the first time anyone was ever able to rein them in and make them focus, and David Foster did a brilliant job on both albums. They retained their campy freak show vibe but paired it with some tight songs and brilliant musical work. The session players were top notch, and IIRC I'm thinking some of them went on to form a little band we've heard of named Toto.
I'm a bit biased, Completion Backward Principle is one of my favorite albums, ever. It is so much fun.
