And she comes from Canada and has always been awesome:

And yes, I did not answer your question at all, but I never tire of turning more people on to her live performances!

In the named song, I took the phrase to be one of defiance, almost as fighting words.
Saying " I can take you".

I heard a cover of the song that was sung as a love song, which to me made it a bad country
and western song.

What do you think?

9. I read it more as she's infatuated with a dude but even his own mom is warning her about him.

Or maybe it’s his sister. I read the song to mean she’s very conflicted about her attraction but believes she could handle anything that might come from it.

For me, part of the beauty of her lyrics are their personal nature, with lots of ambiguity for other’s interpretations. She strikes me as an artist who’s ok with most people not getting exactly what she means.

however, I don't have a biography about her or her music. You can find lots of articles about Joni. There's a facebook page dedicated to her, so you might want to check that out. It's very informative and people are very generous to answer your questions.

Graham Nash. I think it’s a beautiful song. She isn’t going to surrender herself completely to him (drink a case of you, but still be on my feet). She will always love him (it’s bitter sweet). Sigh.

other than buying a few of her LP's 40-50 years ago.

There is a funny anecdote about her in that recent David Crosby movie. He tells a story about her, himself and a new song she sang at a party.

about her. She just came out with a book of her art (she also paints and considers herself an artist first). She has a Facebook page about her and there have been many articles written about her. She had a stroke a few years ago but she is carrying on.

She was involved with many of the musicians and producers back in the day and some of her songs are concerned with those folks.

Lots of fun stuff there, especially if you're a guitar player - all of her work is tabbed there.

But I do like her songwriting skills, and the crazy things she does with guitar tuning. Her guitar never sounds the same, song to song. I'm not trained in music theory, so I don't know how to explain the difference. I only know that something is always tweaked differently with the guitars on her tracks.
