2. Stevie was the whole package

Not only among the best guitarists but had a great soulful voice for the blues and wrote some good songs. I miss the dude very much. It's hard to believe it's been so long since he was here.

4. I am not familiar with the Redlegs of Barbados

In my case, Redleg is a nickname for an artilleryman, which I used to be many years ago. Anyway, Stevie is among the greats and had his own style, often copied but never really equaled. I like Jimmy Vaughn too, at least his music. Jimmy as a person is a bit too right-wing for me.

Sorry, I first think of the Barbados Redlegs when I see the term- the descendants of Irish and Scottish ancestors (prisoners) who were transported by the British to work on plantations in the Caribbean in the 1600s. Since then their lifestyle and status has deteriorated further into poverty and isolation. Some far right individuals have recently tried to claim that the Caribbean Redlegs were slaves equal to black African people held in chattel slavery which is false.

- I first saw this photo series with the caption 'redlegs' in Barbados at a historic house in the 1980s. It's rare to see men dressed in burlap tunics in the 1920s so I asked the guide. She said 'they live over there' and pointed to a nearby parish. That's how I first learned about the marginalized group.

PS I've focused on Stevie V., only saw Jimmy in a couple sessions.
