Hey Glam! Might’ve told this before but back in my mountain biking days (or at least hanging around that world) there was this bad ass little guy who listened to nothing but The Cult. Constantly. Laying in my tent, sun comes up, and we hear SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE IT BABY blasting from his boom box. We’d laugh as we all met at the community table “breakfast with Ian” we’d all nod and say to each other. This guy would come back into civilization, detail cars to get some cash, and then be gone for weeks at a time. Lived out of his van. Free climbed with a mountain bike hanging off him from a rope. Always with Ian and The Cult as a soundtrack.

3. Fourth of July

He calls my buddy for a pay phone “Hey man, I’m down on Bell Island (middle of the James in the middle of the city). Can you get a case of beer and some ice and come down here?” “WHAT?” “ Yeah, I met this girl and we’ve been down here all weekend”. My buddy told him to go get his own beer.
