What's funny is my apartment was just above the pool at my student housing (Mustang Village, SLO, baby!) and remember days going out to tan by the pool, opening my windows, and trying to decide if I'd play The Alarm - Change ... or The Stone Roses ... super loud ... to entertain myself and whoever else was at the pool. Talking 1989!

I saw them in Santa Barbara on the Eye of the Hurricane tour in a small theater ... they were amazing live back then.

they were shit outta luck

Actually if there was a lotta people out I'd usually spin something more universal like Stop Making Sense, Joshua Tree, So, The Head on the Door, or Violent Femmes
