I knew the original was commissioned by the Cincinnati Symphony and I think about it every time I'm downtown near Music Hall where it was first preformed.

I didn't realize that Keith Emerson visited Copeland to get his "blessing" on the ELP version...and he loved it.

Summer, 1977 Soldier Field Chicago. They were great. Had their orchestra. Works Vol. 1 had just come out. Damn were they loud.
