He's super-weird, but a pop music master who has racked up at least a dozen iconic songs on his songwriting resume.
Go figure.
An amazing musician as well, who was doing the "I'll do everything for the album--instruments, vocals, producing, and more," when that wasn't much of a thing. Example: The 1978 album, Hermit of Mink Hollow. Still love the album tracks even more than its hit, "Why Can't We Be Friends."
Those of us who were there in the 70s know his greatness, but he doesn't get much love these days.
And that's a shame.

(51,584 posts)He covered his popular and some little known songs, his own and others, old and new ones. I like that he didn't take requests or do the encore stuff.
I have The Nazz on the CD in my car right now as a matter of fact. Todd was always cool. Bebe Buell really must have been a challenge to deal with romantically but he was so mature about it and all that crap.

Ive always really liked his songwriting. And hes been a producer for numerous others and has had a hand in improving a lot of familiar songs by other artists.
Cant understand why Todd hasnt received more recognition for his contributions to the music of our times.
