passive music and EDM.

Like Trance/Ambient Trance. The counterpoint to sinewy, engaged, live produced music (using instruments) is the music imagined by the DJ who soups up a track using digital tools. Even work by now obscure bands can find new life when one of their motifs are reconstituted as something new. Or sometimes DJ's weave something entirely new out of cloth. Not everyone's cup of tea, but I don't mind it, I like a lot of it..

I just want to drift away...



Thievery Corporation: their track titles and lyrics sound so revolutionary, even though you're more likely to hear them in some sleek lounge where all the finishings are in tasteful metal grunge textures and every drink on the menu is overpriced - this experience can be disconcerting ( well for me).
