(27,813 posts)... or early '90s, (IIRC), a Jewish deli owner on Long Island was running ads on a local radio station, extolling the fact that his eatery served free dinner rolls with every meal.
The ad concluded with the owner singing - in a heavy Yiddish accent - to Winwood's soundtrack:
"And remember - you get a roll with it, baby! You get a roll with your dinner!"
People all over the Island were tuning-in to the radio station just to catch the ad that everyone was talking about - before it got pulled for obvious reasons.

(23,091 posts)So many lose their voices, it happens to almost everyone. He is one of the truly blessed. When I saw the Eagles, you could really see the difference in how people age. Frey's voice was going, it was soo much weaker, while Henley still sounded the same as did Tim and Joe. I was shocked that Joe's help up so well considering he barely made it through his super partying days.
Anyway, glad that he's done so well with his vocal health. He is a fabulous song writer and singer.

It was in the original setlist of that band that lasted 19 years. We probably did it 3 or 4 years.
I loved playing the horn parts on keyboards. Tricky since I still had to keep the piano vamp going.
Had to leave out the Hammond organ part. Would have needed a third hand.
