We missed that birthday lunch with you and your old friend

Your approach to and landing osprey are shockingly high voltage
Why I'd even order several prints if I could only afford the postage

Your capture of both black crowned night herons calls for extra cake

Belated Happy Birthday!

I hope you're feeling better.

A Night Heron is/was a daily visitor for handouts. He would come in and hop on the counter, take his handout and go on about the rest of his business.

That was about 10 years ago. I don't know if this still happens.

Back in my pier fishing days it wasn't uncommon to have a night heron hang out on the pier with us, looking for a handout.

Birds aren’t easy to capture in a clear photo (at least in my experience) and you did a wonderful job.

Like the “Voltage” sign in the one, as if the bird is saying, “I don’t need no stinkin’ voltage warnings!”

And, BTW, Happy Birthday!

I enjoy bird photography for the challenge. It isn't easy to capture a good image of a bird in flight. Unfortunately, this is one type of photography where the gear can get quite expensive.
