(1,293 posts)I see that you post somewhat frequently in this forum, but after a quick search I didn't find which camera(s) or settings you use. I'm interested in lugging out my wife's camera to catch some sunsets, which can be quite beautiful from our backyard, but it would be helpful to know which settings you use.
Thanks in advance!

(5,420 posts)I have two Olympus mirrorless bodies and two Olympus zooms. An E-M1 Mark II with 40-150mm f/2.8 Pro and an E-M10 Mark II with 12-45mm f/4.0 Pro. However, Olympus makes micro 4/3 cameras and lenses, which make the lenses equivalent to full frame 80-300mm and 24-90mm.
I like to shoot in Aperture Priority, most always adding or subtracting exposure compensation, plus 400 ISO at f/5.6. Unless I'm going for blurry background then it's f/2.8, f/4.0. Also, I add or subtract highlights, shadows, saturation in post processing as needed.
What is your wife's camera? What lenses come with it? I think it's a great idea to take up her camera. Any further questions please don't hesitate to ask. Let me know how it goes!

(1,293 posts)Her camera is a Canon Rebel SL1 (DS126441). As far as I know, it's the standard lens that came with the camera. We used to (pre-covid) travel a lot... she would take the still shots, I preferred doing videos. But now that we're more or less home-bound, I thought it might be interesting to try a few still photos.
