a plethora of galaxies

on the left is a galaxy known as NGC 7331 (it doesnt have another name). its surrounded by at least 4 other small galaxies. together they are known as teh deer lick group. NGC 7331 is "only" about 40M light years away while the others are 300M light years away.
In addition on the right is another group of galaxies known as stephens quintet. they are about 350M light years away

There are so many worlds out there! I can't even imagine how many, but it's obvious that we humans are distinctly in the minority!

when the light we see from stephens quintet started heading to earth it was 50-100m years before the dinosaurs appeared.
4 legged animals were first starting to appear


makes you realize just how big the universe actually is
