Youve really captured something special here, George.

Soon's I spied and realized the word "prettily" I further realized very rarely throughout my seventy years that I've read the adverb prettily in print; and never spoken.
It's a wonderful descriptioner. A great term. I found a usage example in "Wiktionary," from "The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy: a Trilogy in Five Parts" ? "the butterflies were flitting about prettily, and the whole of nature seemed to be conspiring to be as pleasant as it possibly could."
Never have read the book. Just downloaded it in ePub format for free into my Nook e-reader from https://www.pdfdrive.com/ which also offers conversion from PDF to ePub, also for free.
Thank You so very much niyad for your excellent and perfect response to Shadow and KC's romp in time.

(113,259 posts)not read it either, but do encounter great quotes from it, quite often right here on DU.
I think part of my English usage tends to be a bit old-fashioned, a result of reading 19th century writers.
Plese pet the furries for me, and have a wonderful day. First snow of the seaon here. M kit and I are curled up under my afghan.
