I had to go to Farmington to get dogfood for my finicky (spoiled) canine overlord. We came back through Shiprock and Teec Nos Pos (no, I don't know how to say it...)
I like the b&w because I can see John Wayne and Gabby Hayes.

I can't decide which depiction I like better, but I do thoroughly love the image. The lines are awesome, and I tend towards preferring the color until I look at the sepia again.
(I've been watching the first season of "Treme" over the last week, so you showing me the lower ninth has been on my mind)

(17,086 posts)I'm back in Cortez, CO. Technically, the foreground is in Colorado and the view is New Mexico, but I did drive through Arizona to get there.
I think this country suits my photography "skills" better than New Orleans - I'm better with desert and mountain landscapes than urban settings. I need to remember to bring my Nikon, though, as the Oly point and shoot is harder to use to frame the subject outdoors. (This was with the Oly.)
(Treme was shooting a lot around my old place in the Bywater just before I left - I bet you will recognize something.)

Is the Oly the water proof camera? What's the full name again, I forgot?
And I'm recognizing a lot of general "feel" of what I saw in New Orleans in the surroundings in the Treme films. I'm loving that I got to be there.

Camera is an Olympus 8010. It gets middling reviews, but I bought it for durability. It's built pretty solid.
The Treme shoots around the Bywater were in season 2 and the upcoming season 3, I believe.
