Turnagain Arm sunrise

We took a run down toward Girdwood this morning. The roads are clear and there is NO ice in the Arm, which is almost unheard of for this time of year. The temperature in Anchorage is 45. I have flowers blooming.

But would you please take these below zero temps back. I don't like winter when we have a mild one.

This is almost as troubling to us as your cold weather is to you. It's wreaking havoc on our winter tourism, skiing, etc. Not to mention that mess of an avalanche over on the Richardson Highway.

Funny, I have thought that I would love to visit Alaska....but I have never considered doing it in the winter.

I sure how things get back to normal, although if you have flowers blooming, normal will really screw everything up now.

Aurora seekers and skiers. Alyeska is world class, but they've had to shut down the past few days, even on the upper slopes. Valdez has heli-skiing for the extreme daredevils. Later in March a lot of people come up for the Iditarod.

Too bad that isn't a sure thing. I hate winter....it would not be my ideal vacation. But I would love to see an aurora.

with the foreground just a touch lighter. It would lead into the photo beautifully with the train tracks and the fence. Maybe it's just my monitor or my eyes, though.

Great, great photo! I really like it.

It looks fine on my big monitor but maybe a little dark on the iPad.

it's a 24" but I keep it set pretty low in brightness. I just like train tracks, but regardless, it's beautiful!
