Jellyfish

I wish I could say I took these while snorkeling off the coast of somewhere exotic, but that is not the case. I took these at the Long Beach Aquarium. I took a ton of pictures there and because the lighting was so low a lot of photos I took turned out blurry. So frustrating! I need to learn more and get a better camera. However these turned out OK, I guess. Luckily jellyfish are slow moving!

Those are totally cool. Long Beach Aquarium you say? I'll be down in Irvine for a week around Thanksgiving. Think I'll drive up there and check it out.

I'm checking these out on my cell phone and they look good! Low light is challenging.

What camera are you using?

a Sony DSC-WX80. It's a point and shoot, albeit a fine one. All the pictures I've posted have been taken with it. It's reignited my interest in photography.I used to like photography but I hated the chemicals in the darkroom. After college I had a job developing rolls of microfilm and fiche for a microfilm company. The chemicals were really irritating to me, especially dealing with it daily for eight hours.

This camera is nice but it has limitations, as I've found out. But hopefully soon I'll be upgrading. This camera gave me the photography bug! I like to paint and draw but I've neglected those since I got a digital camera!

My wife and I have long been fans of Canon's PowerShot line. I have a DSLR but I use one of our PowerShots pretty regularly because of it's convenient size, and because it can produce some very nice images.

These jellyfish are very cool!

I think you did splendidly!

However, you are right: you need a better camera.

and you are right, it is difficult to get decent pictures. But you did do a good job. I would have enjoyed being there with you.
