but this is beyond a doubt the best.

Here's his website. He has some really nice images. http://cralaskaimages.zenfolio.com

The color range was created using high dynamic range post processing (which combines multiple exposures to create a single image with a much larger dynamic range than any single image alone).

Still absolutely gorgeous - I love the HDR look. But more an artistic rendering than pure photography.

The only reason I mentioned it was your comment to the effect that it was the best you've seen - it's relatively easy to flatten the "competition' using HDR.

It is gorgeous.

I love how the Mountain makes her own weather! Blue_in_AK, thanks for this wonderful shot.

Cute story: There was a (tongue-in-cheek) letter to the editor, I think in the New-Miner, by a tourist from Missouri, who swore the Mountain was just a publicity stunt, because he'd been up to visit 20 times and had never been able to see it.............

I remember the Mountain in 1971 on the raft race from Fairbanks to Nenana - waking up on the south shore of the river in Nenana and the Mountain was PINK!! LOL! - quite a sight for a 16 year old!

but mostly in the winter when it's clear and cold. Summer's a little more iffy.
