See why I love the beach?

Last morning at the beach, so Snowy and I were out for our walk by 6 am (thank goodness
that's just going off DST).

Lights still on at the pier

The trawlers are already out with lights on

Gulls like it, too

And it's up!

This particular beach--Emerald Isle--faces south. So in the summer the sun doesn't rise over the ocean because
it's so much farther north it's over land.

Temps were mostly in the 70's while I was there. Some mornings I walked barefoot it was so warm!

3. When a kid - long time ago - we'd go to Topsail beach. I especially remember fall trip to Nags Head.

I wish I lived closer to the beach. It's at least an hour's drive away, which means driving at ungodly hours to get sunrise/sunset photos, and I can't afford to spend a few days there. (I think this is known as a first world complaint.)

I love the way it looks,
I love the way it smells
I love the way the sand feels
I love the way the water feels
I love the water calm, I love the water all roiling.
I love the beachy restaurants
I loved my little trailer at the beach (r.i.p.)
I love the strangers at the beach
I loved taking my dog to the beach to walk in the water, to walk in the sand.
I love rainy days at the beach
I live sunny days at the beach
I love all 4 seasons at the beach.

I'm a beach fan, too.

One of the things I really love about where I live is we have beach and mountains right together. Best of both worlds.
