There is a small park w/walkingtrail along the shore at the Port of Oakland. The port is south of the Bay Bridge, so the view of the bridge and the San Francisco waterfront are a bit different than the more common tourist advertising shots. This was my fist visit out there.

These are very cool industrial photos.

2. Look how small the Ferry Terminal is now compared to the taller newer buildings

in your last shot.

Dunno what it is about the Oakland Bay Bridge but I have never ever felt comfortable crossing it.
No qualms about the Golden Gate or even the Lake Pontchartrain bridge, which is very long and very low to the water.
Bay bridge, tho....makes me uneasy.
Others have said the same.

3. The Ferry Building and Coit Tower were once the standouts.

Now they are dwarfed.

They have had lots of problems with the earthquake retrofit of the eastern span of the Bay Bridge. Not sure it will be any better come the next big shaker.

5. Great shots.

I always end up taking a lot of pictures at the Port of Oakland, too, when we're down there. We usually stay a night or two in Oakland and then take the ferry over to the City. I love that little ride.

6. It was a nice day.

Fun to watch the port in operation.

The ferry from Vallejo to the city is also a nice ride. Very relaxing.
