I am notoriously untrustworthy when it comes to plant identification.

Neck is getting a bit better. Saw the spine surgeon in Oakland on Monday. He said 80% of these type of disc injuries will heal themselves if given enough time. Started me on Gabapentin and it seems to be helping, with minimal side effects so far.
He said that if it hasn't improved enough over the next couple months that a discectomy and cervical cage would be appropriate.

I'm just glad that the Gaba is starting to decrease the pain. I also jumped through the hoops (low and large as they were) to get a California MM card. It doesn't seem to do much for pain, but relaxes the muscle cape across my shoulders and back enough to get to sleep.

I'm thinking I'll be ready for a photo trip with other humans very soon.

Geez...ask a simple question, get a missive in response. I can be chatty...

These are cross-body straps that take the weight off your neck. If you have more than one camera, the strap with the changeable tail is is nice. I kind of wish I had gotten that one, but my point and shoot doesn't weigh that much so i just use the conventional strap for it.

It's amazing how sensitive to pressure that disc makes my neck. My D7100 is not particularly heavy, and I don't have any large lenses, but anything that will take the pressure off is a plus in my eyes.

It makes a world of difference.

There are several types of body straps out there, but this one seemed the best to me.

But I picked up a couple at a grower last year because they were pretty and cheap.

I think the secret is benign neglect.

They get hit by the water of the shower and the steam, so I water them never, give a little food every three months if I remember. Almost all of them bloom again and again. They bring me such joy!

Except my bathroom doesn't get much light. It's one of those where you have to put on the light in broad daylight to find the toilet. I've opted for a north window, stealing a foot or so of cat perching space from said cats. So far, so good.

Finding this gives my present hectic life an oasis of peace.
These are simply exquisite photos and plants as well. The second one especially. Perfection!
