Shooting in RAW, stepping away from the LR/NIK presets, and just using the sliders in the basic LR adjustments panel.

I think it might give me better overall image quality, more natural and less processed looking.

I took these using the Nikkor 55-300mm kit lens that came with my old D5100.

The auto-focus can be really slow and uncertain at times. Not great for anything that is moving around in less than ideal light.
