I'm afraid my bud vase is long gone.

My wife will want those cups.

How is the SIL doing?

(19,459 posts)He waited way too long to be seen initially, and he has pretty severe damage to the heart as a result. Blood oxygen levels are an issue at this point, along with fluid retention, etc. . He really wants to go back to work, at least on light duty (he's a geriatric specialist for three elder care facilities) but it just isn't going to happen yet.
My wife was down there until a week ago, and we're both going back down next Friday. I'll probably stay in La Jolla for a couple of months.
Thanks for asking.

(31,319 posts)Is he on a transplant list?
Adsos Letter
(19,459 posts)They won't list him until he gets worse and needs the heart asap. This amazes me, as he just about died, and is still very sick.
His dad, who had one 15 years ago, was so sick when they finally called to tell him they had a match that he doesn't even remember being taken to the hospital.
August is a great time to be at the beach in SoCal, as I know you know.

(19,459 posts)It is incredibly stressful. My daughter is trying to balance care for a six-month old, a very needy husband (understandably), and manage a full panel of eye surgeries at work. She is beyond overwhelmed, and we're doing everything we can to help, as is his family. We are just so grateful she doesn't have to face this entirely on her own.

(60,065 posts)My dad had some Concord grapes. I loved squeezing out the sweet pulp, in order to avoid the skin.

Thank you for that.

I love that lens, and it was very inexpensive.

(19,459 posts)The 50mm f/1.8 and the Nikkor 35mm f/1.8 are the least expensive lenses in my kit (which isn't saying much as the most expensive lens I own is the 85mm f/1.8G) and yet they consistently produce nice images.

(60,065 posts)With a 2X crop factor it is a 56mm. The lumix 20mm 1.7 gives me 40mm. That's a great little lens.
