Lazy Person's Guide to Fireworks

I attended an early 4th celebration over the weekend. I went early in the day to check out the sights and went back later for the fireworks. People were already in place for the concerts and fireworks, but my idea of a group gathering is me sitting off in my own little world.

I found me a spot near the power lines - because I like power lines - and away from the crowd.

Everything "On - A - Stick"

Or Fried

Spicy Shrimp Po'Boy

In case you don't know that I am in Louisiana

The coolest person at the 'fest

I leave to find something to eat that wasn't on a stick.

The sun sets and I go back to my spot away from the crowd. I settled in and made myself comfortable. I quickly realized that to get firework shots without the power lines in-frame that I needed to either stand up or move in closer to the crowd.

Now, I could have titled this post "The Anti-Social Person's Guide to Fireworks", but that wouldn't be accurate. I enjoy people, I just wanted to view the fireworks in peace.

Being too lazy to stand or move (and without further commentary)

However you spend tomorrow, I wish you all joy and peace.

I am amazed at all the things you can cook on a stick!

And your firework photos are wonderful, wires or otherwise.

Joy and peace to you tomorrow, dear girl!

I was surprised by all the various foods on the stick. They also had BBQ plates (chicken, brisket, pork). Lot of food, really. All of it with a Cajun flair.

I was comfortable and settled, no way was I going to move.

Everything on a stick is right!

It's overcast here today (and yesterday). May not be any fireworks tonight if it rains...and right now it's about 50% chance.

9. Hi! It's raining here now. I'm glad as the days have been 100+ lately.

I went to Kim's and got some noodles instead of the stick food. They were also selling BBQ (brisket, chicken, pork, etc..) and I used to like BBQ but that's an iffy situation now. (since the cancer/radiation)

I'm going to bathe my dogs later. That will be the highlight of my day. They both hate water.

You would have loved the old guy in the red suit. He was a hoot! He was just as cool up close and personal. I chatted with him a few minutes while waiting in line at a drink station.

I really like your photos.

Our festivities stand a good chance of being rained out.

Very hot day and by nightfall all I wanted to do was sleep.

We have rain now. Cooling everything off for a bit.

Thanks, alfredo.

Boost, maybe?

What are they giving you to help settle your tummy? I got this orange liquid. The name escapes me at the moment.

I can't tell the difference between tummy troubles and hunger.

17. It was a long time before I felt actual hunger pains and knew them for hunger pains.

For a long time it was a toss up between hunger and upset stomach, with the upset tummy winning out.
