The birds are coming...

at least the little American Goldfinches have discovered the fresh water in the ant cups of the hummingbird feeder I put up off our
back deck this week. This feeder hangs where I can see it from my study window.

And here they are! I think the bottom one is the male--which looks more brightly colored--but they came together and flew away together.

Won't be long until I see hummers, I hope!

but there is afternoon sun on the trees while the feeder is in shade. Decent lighting conditions for shooting through a dirty window.
