Tonight I got down to the beach, hoping that the skies would be beautiful...

They were OK, but not like last night........but I did get some shots of the sunset and one of the moon that I was pleased with.

Actually, that was the sun setting. I got there in time to see that. The last photo is the moon, which was high overhead.

photo. I've always liked it. Was thinking of how much your sun picture was like my moon one and wrote moon instead of sun.

That was just luck! I don't even remember what setting the camera was on. But it was so clear and bright, I knew I had to try.

8. Aaah, so that's what the moon looks like

It's been overcast and rainy most of the week. We missed the meteor shower because of overcast skies. So thanks. Looked like a clear night!

It's funny--the sky was divided between cloudy fog and clear. It's almost as though a line had been drawn through the heavens, with the fog out at sea, and the clear over the beach.

The moon was in the clear part, nearly directly overhead. I had to lean on a very sturdy railing to point my camera almost straight up! And it worked!
